A man aged 67 died after he was struck by a train in Alexăndreni village of Sângerei district in the evening of January 21.

Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Sângerei Police Inspectorate Ina Moscaliuc said it was preliminarily established that the man was on the left side of the railways leading to Florești district. The train that hit the man was with passengers and was running on the Bălți-Rogojeni route.

Sources in the mayor’s office of Biruința town, where the man lived, have told IPN the man was calm and never got into conflicts. They cannot explain why something like this happened. The man was divorced and his two children live abroad.
