Man dies after 7th floor fall
A Chisinau man, 32, died after falling from the seventh floor of an apartment house in Chisinau’s Ciocana district Friday afternoon.
The event occurred in broad daylight, at 13:00, and shocked passers-by. What was also strange was that the man was not living in the block which he fell from and the police are now investigating to find out whether the man was pushed.
Near midnight, two young men, both aged 19, were brought to the medical center in the suburban town of Vadul lui Voda after a traffic accident. One of the victims apparently lost control of the Renault he was driving and projected the car into a tree on the curbside. As a result, both the driver and the passenger suffered similar traumas – head injuries, brain concussion, and spinal contusions.
Another accident involving a Lada car and an electric bus occurred in the intersection of the streets Kogalniceanu and Sfatul Tarii. Three persons were injured as a result, with traumas ranging from brain concussion to liver rupture. This intersection is famed as a site of numerous accidents, in which, most of the time, cars moving downhill on Sfatul Tarii Street ignore the right-of-way rule. People living nearby also say this intersection is an example of poor traffic signing.
