A motorcycle overturned Monday near Cobani village of Glodeni district. The 34-year-old driver was thrown under the wheels of a truck passing by. He died on the spot. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Paulina Yakimovski has told Info-Prim Neo that the motorcyclist wanted to outrun a car, but lost control of his vehicle. Another man traveling on the motorcycle as a passenger suffered a cranial-cerebral trauma and was admitted to the Glodeni district hospital. A speeding Volkswagen car skidded at a turn and went into a well situated on the roadside. The driver aged 54 was unhurt, while two passengers of 33 and 34 received serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. A 26-year-old woman was struck by a car on a central street in Goienii-Noi village. She was admitted to the Chisinau Emergency Hospital with a cranial-cerebral trauma and a thoracic trauma. One person was killed and ten injured in five accidents on the national roads yesterday and last night. Another 33 accidents caused no victims. A number of 193 persons have been killed in traffic accidents in Moldova this year.
