A man was killed in a car accident that happened on the Balti – Sarateni road yesterday evening. Dana Andronic, PR specialist of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that a speeding Zaporojets car driven by a 33-year-old man struck a man aged 79. The old man died on the spot. An investigation is under way. A 19-year-old man lost control of his Jiguli car on the Chisinau – Soroca road and crashed it into a Fiat-Bravo car parked by the roadside. The passenger of the Jiguli aged 63 was rushed to the Emergency Hospital with different injuries. A Volvo truck taking threads from Romania to the Ungheni carpet factory overturned on the Leuseni – Chisinau road after a front tire burst. The driver received minor injuries. The personal car of the Hungarian consul in Moldova was involved in a road accident at the intersection of Bucuresti and Maria Cibotari streets in Chisinau. The Scoda Fabia with Hungarian license number collided with an Opel Astra. The drivers were unhurt, but the vehicles were damaged. One person was killed and four injured in five accidents that occurred on the national roads during the last 24 hours. Another 42 accidents caused no victims.
