The Northern Office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office sent to court the criminal case started against a man from Dondușeni district who is accused of 19 counts of traffic of influence. The man was charged with receiving €250 to €500, a total of €7,000, for influencing members of the examination commission to enable particular candidates to pass the driving test, IPN reports.
According to the Prospector General’s Office, three more persons will stand trial together with the man. The head of the Ocnița branch of the public association “Motor Drivers Union” and two driving teachers of this association are accused of falsifying a series of documents to show that the person passed the driving test for category “C”.
In February – May 2019, the man from Dondușeni collected bribe from candidates for helping them pass the driving test and obtain a driver’s license even if they didn’t attend classes and didn’t take the internal exam. He faces up to five years behind bars.
