The Border Police seized 80 kg of hashish on the Moldovan-Romanian border. These are the first smuggled drugs confiscated this year. If they had reached the buyers, the seller would have earned €1 million, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Border Police, a minibus driven by a Moldovan aged 42 was stropped at the Leuseni customs post. When checking the unit of transport, customs officers found 80 kg of hashish hidden in the vehicle’s reservoir.

The driver was placed under arrest for 72 hours. He faces 3 to 10 years in jail for smuggling.
