Man Aureliu Busuioc is absent, but writer Aureliu Busuioc is still present in our literary life. Aureliu Busuioc’s books continue to be published and republished and a proof of this is the fact that a Chisinau publishing house printed six of his volumes during a year of the great novelist’s death, said writer Emilian Galaicu-Paun, quoted by IPN.
On October 26, Master Aureliu Busuioc would have turned 85. On this occasion, colleagues, friends and pupils of the writer as well as important figures from the social and cultural spheres staged an evening of recollections in memory of Aureliu Busuioc. Those attending spoke more about the man Aureliu Busuioc rather than about his works.
Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca said that Aureliu Busuioc didn’t have an easy life, but never made a victim of himself because of this. He was a bright man who looked happy. The ambassador said he read all the books offered by Aureliu Busuioc as a present, but cannot return to them after the writer’s death because he cannot imagine him.
He had a difficult and sad life, but was an ironical man, said writer Maria Shleahtitski. She described the friendship with Aureliu Busuioc as a miracle of her destiny.
Journalist Vasile Botnaru, who was also a friend of Aureliu Busuioc, said that this great person never overestimated himself. He expressed his regret at the fact that he didn’t manage to make an audio book with Aureliu Busuioc. “I regret we didn’t manage to convince him to read his texts on the microphone,” he stated.
Within the event, there was launched the author series “Aureliu Busuioc” of the People’s Cartier collection. At the Cartier publishing house, there was also printed the definitive edition of the novel “Chronicle of the Hen Keepers”. The books were issued in 500 copies and are sold in Romanian bookshops as well. They cost between 58 and 110 lei.
Aureliu Busuioc (1928-2012) was a dramatis, essay writer, journalist, poet, publicist, novel writer, scenarist, and translator.
