A 37-year-old man was arrested after threatening with a gun a female worker at a shop in Chisinau’s Botanica district, IPN reports.

The police were alerted through a 112 call. The woman, 23, told the police the suspect entered the shop being visibly drunk, and then threatened her at gunpoint, demanding alcohol.

The man was taken to the Police Inspectorate, where it was found that wasn’t possessing his gun legally.

The suspect now faces a fine of up to 37,500 lei, or up to 240 hours of community service, or from 12 to 36 months in jail.
