A man is investigated for smuggling tear gas grenades. He was arrested after he went to the post office to collect a parcel. The man is 36 and lives in Edineț town, IPN reports.
The Customs Service said the banned goods were smuggled into the country through a parcel that came from Ukraine. A number of tear gas grenades and component parts of guns were found in the parcel upon a check.
Immediately after the arrest, the police carried out searches at the man’s home and found there banned arms and munitions. These will be transmitted for examination.
The man faces up to eight years in jail.
