The traffic on one of the main portions of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. from the capital will be stopped for almost 3 days. Authorities say that this restriction was necessary for the assurance of the “well preparation and display of the National Holiday of Wine” According to the information provided by the Chisinau Road Police, starting October 6, 6:00 till October 9, 1:00 the traffic will be stopped on the portion of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. placed between Serghei Lazo str. and Vasile Alexandri str., including the Square of the Great General Assembly. The traffic of the public and personal transport will be deviated to the streets which are adjacent to the Stefan cel Mare Blvd. Some inhabitants of Chisinau declared that the decision of the authorities to organize what they call “the great national drinking bout” on the Square is indignant. Besides the moral aspect of this decision, they sustain that the traffic deviation to the neighboring streets will make the last ones out of order for several days, since the traffic on them is already congested after the microbuses’ routes where shifted. The National Wine Holiday will be taking place in Chisinau during 2 days on October 7-8.
