Maia Sandu’s party to be constituted next month

The congress to constitute the Action and Solidary Party, which is a political project launched by ex-minister of education Maia Sandu, will take place in April. In the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, Maia Sandu said about 5,000 people have already joined the project, IPN reports.

“We could encounter small problems on registration, but we are sure that the party wil be registered because we do everything correctly and transparently and publish everything on time, including the costs, and obey the law. We already have over 4,000 or even almost 5,000 persons registered as members,” said Maia Sandu.

She also said that the party’s local organizations at district level are now being set up. “Afterward, we will create organizations in villages. We plan to hold the constitution congress in April. We are now considering the rules of choosing the heads of local district organizations. Those who want to apply for the post of head of local organization will have to go through a filter of the ethics commission, while the vote will be secret. We haven’t yet discussed who will hold the post of chairperson of the future party,” she stated.

Maia Sandu added that in the meetings with the people, elderly persons approach her and tell her that they do not think she will manage to do something for them because the future party’s objectives are long-term ones, but ask her to make effort to bring their children home at least.

As to her participation in the presidential elections, the politician said that she will take a relevant decision together with her team. However, she is ready to take part in them.
