Maia Sandu: There is interest in designating common candidate for President

The center-right parties maintain the position that a common candidate for the post of President should be nominated on their behalf, the leader of the political project “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu said in the program “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

“There is interest in designating a common candidate for President. The opposition must have a common candidate, but this does not mean that we will combine forces with Igor Dodon. We will discuss and agree a mechanism for choosing this candidate. We must take a decision in a team,” said Maia Sandu.

She also said that dictatorship is being gradually established in Moldova, but the situation can be changed by elections. “We built the party not for the sake of the party, but in order to change the situation in the country,” she stated.

In the program, Maia Sandu criticized the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip to reduce the number of ministries by one third. “He should better not do it as he could discredit the reform. They will liquidate ministries and will create agencies. It is a useful method of getting rid of the inconvenient people and of bringing loyal persons,” said the ex-minister of education.
