Maia Sandu takes part in Munich Security Conference

President Maia Sandu will participate in the Munich Security Conference during February 17-19. Moldova’s delegation will include Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco. The conference will bring together over 45 heads of state and government and more than 70 ministers, IPN reports.

While in Germany, President Sandu will have meetings with heads of state and government, European high-ranking officials and heads of international organizations, according to the presidential press service.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said Ana Revenco will have bilateral discussions with a number of European officials. Increased attention will be devoted to the operationalization of the EU Support Hub in Chisinau given that the Republic of Moldova became a state that provides security for the European space by strengthening the security belt on the border with the war in Ukraine.

The 59th Munich Security Conference will offer a platform for high-level discussions on the most serious foreign and security policy challenges witnessed in the period. Given that it is almost a year since the start of Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine, there will be discussed the world community’s political commitment to the rules-based international order.
