Maia Sandu submits subscription lists to CEC

The initiative group for collecting signatures in favor of the candidate for President of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu presented the subscription lists with the collected signatures to the Central Election Commission on the afternoon of September 22, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu said they collected over 27,000 signatures, but submitted almost 25,000 to the CEC. In the collection process, she found out what expectations the people have of the presidential elections.

According to the politician, the Republic of Moldova needs a new political class and the presidential elections can be the first step. “When I speak about a new political class, I speak about upright and honest people preoccupied with the people’s interests. The Republic of Moldova needs a political class of professions and people who know how to restructure and change this system and how to rebuild the state institutions in the people’s interests,” stated Maia Sandu.

The candidate for the office of President fielded by the Political Party “Our Party” Dumitru Chubashenko submitted the subscription lists earlier today. As a result of the draw, it was decided that Chubasheko will be sixth on the ballot, while Sandu will be seventh.

The CEC has seven days to examine the presented documents and subscription lists and to decide whether to register the applicants or not.
