The ruling political class must leave and new parties of the right should be created, ex-minister of education Maia Sandu said in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
According to Maia Sandu, the early elections are a solution despite particular risks. “There are some risks, but they can no longer scare us with the European course that they discredited,” she stated.
The former minister approved of the candidate for premiership Ion Sturza. ”He is a suitable candidate. Those from Parliament should vote him in unconditionally and should thank him for coming to take the country out of the crisis and to assume responsibility for all their faults,” said Maia Sandu.
She has yet a contrary opinion about Vlad Plahotniuc as a possible candidate for Prime Minister. “There are many people who want to become Prime Minister. I don’t understand why Plahotniuc should hold this post. What did he do for the country? He just weakened the state institutions,” stated the ex-minister.
Maia Sandu also leveled criticism at the Democratic Party, which promotes Plahotniuc and which could even seek the resignation of the head of state for the sake of its goal. “The actions of the PDM do not seem logical to me. It seems that those from the Democratic Party discovered now the presidential institution, which has a say, and want to deprive the President of the right to have this say. It’s dangerous what those from the PDM want to do,” she said.
As to the political project that she intends to launch in the immediate future, Maia Sandu said there are already over 2,000 people who want to join it, but these will be accepted after their integrity is checked. “We now have an ethics and integrity commission that is working out criteria for different categories. Those who want to become party members will have to sign own responsibility statements concerning their integrity. The conditions will be harsher for those who will apply for posts in the party’s administrative bodies. The commission consists of four persons whom I fully trust,” she stated.
