“The best way to celebrate 106 years since the Union of Bessarabia with Romania is to highlight the ties between the people from both banks of the Prut, to thank Romania for its constant support aimed at improving the lives of all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and to continue working to become a developed and free state, alongside Romania, in the big European family,” stated President Sandu.
On the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Union of Bessarabia with Romania, a number of Romanian officials came with messages. Among them are Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and Senate President Nicolae Ciucă. On March 27, 2017, the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis signed the decree on the promulgation of the Law to declare March 27, the Day of Union of Bessarabia with Romania, a national holiday.
