The president of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu said she is ready to have a meeting with MPs of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) where to discuss provisions of the lending agreement with the Russian Federation. She noted there are Democratic MPs who share the same opinions about the lending agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, IPN reports.
“We discuss also with those from the PDM as only they can stop this disorder in Parliament. There are many people and my mates discuss with those who want to do good to the country and realize the dangers posed by this loan. I want to believe that things will be made clear before the Parliament sitting and the people will understand how serious the approval of this agreement is and we will have an example of change,” Maia Sandu stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.
Asked about the Democratic MPs who have reservations about the lending agreement, Maia Sandu refused to give names, saying there are MPs who are ready to have discussions.
“My mates discuss with all those who are there and who are open. There are persons in the PDM who are ready to have discussions and there are people who avoid such discussions. I’m ready to discuss the risks of this agreement with the Democratic Party and to try and convince them that this lending agreement should be reviewed. I’m ready to talk to them even before the Parliament sitting. If the people want to discuss, this is possible,” stated Maia Sandu.
The bill to ratify the lending agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Russian Federation concerning the provision of a state financial loan was approved by the Cabinet on April 21. According to the authorities, the agreement does not stipulate commission for the disbursement or non-disbursement of the loan, but allows for the repayment of the loan in advance at any opportune moment. A Parliament sitting will be held today, April 23, to ratify the lending agreements with Russia and the IMF.
