Maia Sandu: PAS will try to improve people’s lives, regardless of political consequences for it

The president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Maia Sandu said the current Government is incapable and irresponsible and didn’t know how to manage the sanitary crisis situation. As a result, we have got a large number of infections in the healthcare system and not only. If things go on like this, a crisis in all the areas will be witnessed. That’s why the PAS will try to improve people’s lives, regardless of the political consequences for it in the medium and long terms. This depends yet also on the MPs. The PAS leader stated her opinions on Facebook live, IPN reports.

“The situation for us is very difficult here. We should try and appoint a better Government for the people, assuming all the political and image risks, including the subsequent electoral risks, or should we leave things as they are? I think that if we are sincere with ourselves, we should try and improve people’s lives, regardless of the political consequences for us in the medium and long terms. And this is what we will try to do. Evidently, it also depends on other MPs,” noted Maia Sandu.

According to the politician, the appointment of a new Government implies big risks for the PAS. “If we allow this Government to work further, we will convince ourselves how gloomy the situation will be for the people, not yet for the rulers as they always can cope,” stated the PAS leader.

In another development, Maia Sandu said the right should have a common candidate for this autumn’s presidential elections, but this should have the biggest chances of winning. However, many of the parties of the right already announced their candidates, including the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase. “We want to win these presidential elections and remove Igor Dodon from power as only this way we can cut the head of the mafia system. For the purpose, we should compete in these elections with the candidate who has the biggest chances,” she opined.

In the live chat in the evening of May 10, the PAS leader offered a response variant to the question that IPN News Agency formulated in the title of a May 9 analysis - “Will Maia Sandu return to post of Prime Minister?
