Maia Sandu: moldovan citizens will have access to SEPA benefits starting this fall

Moldova's alignment with SEPA confirms the alignment of the financial-banking sector with European standards, says President Maia Sandu. According to the head of state, citizens of Moldova will be able to benefit from this new provision starting this fall.

"Today, fees can reach tens or hundreds of euros. With Moldova's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area, these transfers will only cost a few euros and will be simplified," said President Maia Sandu.

Moldova was accepted today into the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). The country officially submitted its application for membership on January 30, 2024. SEPA is a system that simplifies and unifies euro payments across all member states, allowing for fast, secure, and efficient transfers between bank accounts in the 40 participating countries.
