The president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Maia Sandu, former Prime Minister, said she intends to strengthen the party at central and local levels. Changes will be soon made to the managerial team of the PAS and new figures will appear in the party, IPN reports.
“You will see new faces in the PAS soon. This is what we are focusing on now – we are strengthening the team at the central level and will soon present new persons. We are working with mayors so as to help them build powerful organizations everywhere we can and get ready for the struggle. I want the people to see that I’m optimistic and that the team I manage is optimistic and to be confident that we will improve things and will get rid of Dodon,” Maia Sandu stated in the Jurnal TV program “Secrets of Power”.
Referring to the suggestions made by the former President of Romania, MEP Traian Băsescu, the politician said the PAS is not ready now to merge with the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” led by Andrei Năstase. “It is a very difficult process and we can analyze the National Liberal Party that went through a merger. One must have enough time as the consequences, the differences cannot be dealt with swiftly,” said Maia Sandu.
She also said she was urged by the party’s local organization in Hâncești to run in the parliamentary elections that will be held in that constituency. “Our fellows in Hâncești told me they would be very glad if I could run in this consistency. We will take a decision at the central level,” she stated.
