Corruption and poor governance lead to emigration and threaten security, and the priority is to improve governance, which will lead to better security and encourage people to trust the state again, stated Moldovan President Maia Sandu on the occasion of the the Munich Security Conference.
Maia Sandu twitted that she met with Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock. “We have discussed how to promote our cooperation in fighting cybercrime, financial crime and corruption. We also agreed to strengthen our strategic partnership,” the president wrote.
Sandu also had a meeting with German diplomat Christoph Heusgen, with whom she discussed the latest developments in the region and how the international community can help address these challenges.
The Munich Security Conference is taking place during 18-20 February. The event brings together heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international security organizations.
