Maia Sandu: I’m determined to place Moldova on right path

The Republic of Moldova needs a President who knows and wants to place the country on the right path, not a President who would keep it in chaos. “We need a President would who give hope in tomorrow. We want to celebrate 30 years of independence with happy families and want to have a real holiday, not poverty, stealing and disease,” the Party of Action and Solidarity’s candidate for President Maia Sandu stated in the event held to start her election campaign, IPN reports.

The politician noted this year’s elections are more important than ever. “These elections are not about politicians, but about our country in which we want to live. If we want to get rid of stealing and poverty, we must all mobilize,” stated the candidate.

“We were robbed of 1 billion euros and many other billion lei. We became the poorest country in Europe. We saw the justice system protecting criminals and thieves and wronging honest people. We are now managed by the biggest thieves and were allowed to cope ourselves in the most difficult periods. I do not have a magic wand to solve all the problems overnight with it, but I have a plan and I’m determined to place Moldova on the right path,” said Maia Sandu.

PAS first vice president Igor Grosu noted that Maia Sandu will be a President who will set a new type of conduct, will stimulate the honest people from institutions, will insist that the Government and Parliament take decisions for the people. “Maia Sandu embodies the values that took us to politics and symbolizes the need of the change wanted by the people. It’s the time of good people. It’s time to make a choice!”, stated Igor Grosu.

Colonel in reserve Rosian Vasiloi, who headed the Border Police in the Sandu Government, made a call to all “the people in epaulettes”. “The head of state should serve the people, should be a commander as a commander takes care of the people he/she directs. As an officer, I know what having the character of a fighter means – going till the end and not betraying, keeping the promises and having courage. I saw these qualities in Missis Maia Sandu,” he stated.

The campaign prior to the presidential elections of November 1 began on October 2. The race involves six candidates: Renato Usatîi of Our Party, Andrei Năstase of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, Tudor Deliu of the Liberal Democratic Party, independent candidate Igor Dodon, Violeta Ivanov of the Shor Party and Maia Sandu of the Party of Action and Solidarity. The Central Electing Commission is to decide on the registration of two more aspirants: Octavian Țîcu of the National Unity Party and Dorin Chirtoacă of the UNION Electoral Bloc.
