Maia Sandu goes to Constitutional Court

The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Maia Sandu will go to the Constitutional Court to present evidence of the irregularities committed in the presidential runoff of November 13. She made such an announcement after the Supreme Court of Justice passed a definitive and irrevocable decision on Sandu’s complaint, saying the examination of the violations of the Constitution and the Election Code in the residential elections is not within the competence of the common law courts, but within the competence of the Constitutional Court, IPN reports.

In a message posted on a social networking site, Maia Sandu says numerous violations of the electoral legislation were committed in the previous elections and these cast doubt on the legality and correctness of the elections. “As all the institutions to which we went so far avoided responsibility for analyzing the relevant evidence, we will go to the Constitutional Court to present, with arguments and proofs, all the illegalities committed in the presidential elections, which undoubtedly influenced the election outcome and bought ‘victory’ to the candidate of the power,” wrote the ex-PAS candidate for President.

Maia Sandu lost the presidential runoff to Socialist candidate Igor Dodon.
