The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Maia Sandu said she hasn’t yet decided whether to run in the presidential elections or not, but considers that the forces of the right must have a common candidate in these elections. She developed the issue in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“I want Moldova to have a President who will take a first step towards the removal of the oligarchic regime and towards institutional reformation. I haven’t yet taken a decision as to my candidacy and didn’t set the goal of becoming Head of State. I consider the system must be changed,” stated Maia Sandu.
The leader of the PAS reiterated the position that the forces of the right must choose a common candidate so as not to fragment the votes. “We must identify a common candidate with managerial skills, who won’t be blackmailable. Blackmailable persons with integrity-related problems have been named to executive posts in the recent past,” she said.
Maia Sandu noted that a dialogue on the future candidate for the presidency with the Liberal Democratic Party is also possible. “I think all the forces that want the change can take part in the dialogue,” she said.
