The integrity and meritocracy filters set by the future electoral bloc ACUM, formed by the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, will show who can be blackmailed and who can be easier coopted by particular persons, who is not afraid of anything and cannot be blackmailed and will not betray the voters, PAS leader Maia Sandu was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “In Depth” on Pro TV channel.
“The credibility of the current politicians is low owing to corruption and to what we saw in Parliament, when MPs from different parties betrayed the voters and defected to the Democratic Party,” stated Maia Sandu.
At the same time, the PAS leader said the future electoral bloc is ready to support a candidate of another political party than that of the PAS/PPPDA only if this candidate passes the integrity and meritocracy tests. The best candidate who will go through the set filters and will be able to compete with the opponents will be supported in single-member constituencies.
As to the idea of boycotting the parliamentary elections that appeared in the public sphere, Maia Sandu said this is not good because there will be no real opposition in the elections and the current government will thus easier win a new mandate. “We will take part in these elections even if the conditions are not favorable. We proved that we are powerful in the presidential elections and in the elections in Chisinau municipality and will take part in the upcoming elections mobilized and organized and will report all the committed frauds,” stated the politician.
She noted that voices in the international community said the parliamentary elections could not be recognized even before the election day if the witnessed frauds are too serious.
