Maia Sandu enters politics

Ex-minister of education Maia Sandu, who is shown to have the highest popular approval ratings in polls, decided to enter politics. In a video clip, she calls on the country’s people to contribute to saving the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

“The passing year was a hard one. In seven days, this will be said on all the screens and this is what we have heard on holidays during 25 years. I really think that this year was one of the most difficult ones in the country’s history. It was the year when the most precious thing – the hope - was stolen from us. The hope for many of us was the last reason for which we remained in the country,” stated Maia Sandu.

She also said she refuses to believe that everything is lost, that the country has no chance and that there is no more place in Moldova for good, correct and hardworking people. “We want to build a different future, a future when we will be able to say with pride: the passing year was a good one. I decided not to wait and to take a step now towards building this future. Today I call on you to take this step together and to initiate a movement that will demolish this corrupt system, will bring a new political class and will build a country where we all will live in safety,” urged Maia Sandu, expressing her confidence that results are possible if everyone lends a hand.

“I call on you to believe that it is possible because I believe in you. I call on you to make the country’s history clean, as the teachers say.”
