President Maia Sandu is the most trusted political leader in Moldova, according to the sociological survey “Vox Populi 2020”. Maia Sandu is trusted by 26.9% of the population and is followed by the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon with 23.5%. The poll was carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The question about the trust put in the political leaders was an open one. Almost 14% of those polled said they do not trust anyone, while 10% said they do not have an opinion on the issue.
Answering the same question, 6.1% of the respondents mentioned Ilan Shor, 5.8% - Ion Ceban, 4.2% - Renato Usatyi, 2% - Andrei Năstase, 2% - Zinaida Grechanyi – 2%, 1.7% - Pavel Filip, 1.5% -Vladimir Voronin.
Among the decided respondents (76.4%), Maia Sandu gained 35.2% of the preferences, Igor Dodon – 30.7%, Ilan Shor – 8%, Ion Ceban – 7.6%, Renato Usatyi – 5.5%, Andrei Năstase – 2.6%, Zinaida Grechanyi – 2.6%, Pavel Filip – 2.2%, Vladimir Voronin – 2%.
The study was conducted during January 8-23, 2021 and covered a sample of 1,153 respondents older than 18 from 87 localities of the Republic of Moldova, except for the Transnistrian region. The margin of sampling error is + 3%.
