The dynamics of the internal reforms in Moldova were disused by President Maia Sandu and His Majesty Kind Philippe of the Belgians in Brussels in the evening of January 19, IPN reports.
In a post on a social networking site, Maia Sandu said the dialogue centered on the situation in the region and the possibilities of cooperating closer with the Belgian authorities, in the common interests of the two states. “Belgium became the second home for many of our compatriots and this is one more reason and argument for the rapprochement between our countries,” stated the official.
Belgium supported Moldova bilaterally and through the position it adopted within the EU on strategic matters and by the role played in the European Union as a t country that hosts most of the European institutions, noted Maia Sandu.
The same evening, President Sandu announced that she intended to meet a number of Moldovans who settled in Belgium, but the current pandemic restrictions in this state do not allow having meetings involving more than four persons.
“Nevertheless, during the two-day visit we enjoyed the presence and support of several of our compatriots. We thank for involvement producer Dumitru Marian, who accompanied us with the video camera at the events, and chef Alexandru Sapco, whose restaurant was named the discovery of 2020 in the Belgian capital. We also thank photographer and artist Natalia Gârbu from Chisinau, who offered the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union photographs and reproductions of her works, giving a unique air to this space. I’m convinced that soon, owing to the efforts of doctors and people of science, we will be able to see each other as earlier and to discuss in detail subjects that refer to us all,” stated the President of the Republic of Moldova.
Maia Sandu paid an official visit to Brussels during January 17-19.
