Maia Sandu beat Alexandr Stoianoglo in Cahul by 2,419 votes

The difference between the scores of Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo in the presidential election in Cahul with all vote reports counted is 2,419 votes. The candidate of the Party of Action and Solidarity won 37.18% of the poll, and the candidate of the Party of Socialists - 31.11% of the ballot, IPN reports.

Renato Usatyi, Our Party – 12.09%

Irina Vlah, independent candidate – 6.37%

Victoria Furtună, independent candidate – 4.98%

Vasile Tarlev, Party for the Future of Moldova – 3.61%

Ion Chicu, Party of Consolidation and Development – 2.29%

Octavian Țîcu, “Together: Electoral Bloc – 0.76%

Natalia Morari, independent candidate – 0.65%

Andrei Năstase, independent candidate – 0.61%

Tudor Ulyanovski, independent candidate – 0.34%

Countrywide, with 98.47% of the vote reports counted, Maia Sandu is the leader with 42.04% of the vote. Alexandr Stoianoglo gained 26.27% of the poll.

According to the Electoral Code, if none of the candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova gains at least half of the poll, a runoff vote between the two candidates who obtained most of the votes in the first round of voting is held in two weeks of the date of the first round.
