The authorities designed a plan to improve cooperation at internal and foreign levels so as ensure the cases of grand corruption are solved and the money stolen from the citizens are recovered, said President Maia Sandu, who convoked the Supreme Security Council (SSC) on March 30, IPN reports.
The official said they examined responsible authorities’ reports on the fight against grand corruption and cases about which society knows. “We saw the progress made in these cases and also the impediments. We draw some conclusions for all the institutions, including recommendations to work out legislative amendments that should be adopted swiftly,” stated President Sandu.
She noted they considered how the institutions can and should cooperate better to make sure the cases of grand corruption are brought to an end. “We discussed the impediments faced in international cooperation as a lot of the elements of the cases of grand corruption represent resources taken out of the country or the main thieves fled the country. Therefore, we need to cooperate with international institutions, with countries on the bilateral dimension,” said the official.
