Maia Sandu: ACUM could obtain unblocking of foreign financing in several months

If a minority government is formed as it proposed earlier, the bloc ACUM could obtain the unblocking of foreign financing in several months, said the leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu, co-president of the bloc ACUM. According to her, an eventual coalition between the PSRM and the PDM would be unable to do this, IPN reports.

“We are sure because we discuss this thing and enjoy support. We went to Brussel and asked how swiftly this financing can be unblocked. This wasn’t a simple conversation. We discussed serious things,” stated Maia Sandu.

According to her, if none of the other MPs wants to free the state from captivity and to restore the proportional representation system, snap elections will take place and both ACUM and the Socialists will suffer as a result. In this case, the Democrats will stand to gain.

Journalist Vladimir Solovyov said that after the Socialists and the Democrats met at the Presidential Building, a coalition between the PDM and the PSRM started to take shape. The first step was taken when the leaders of the two parties said there are divergences between them, but they also have things in common. “It is evident that this was done as a preparatory stage,” noted the journalist, adding that the eventual formation of a coalition between the PDM and the PSRM will become clear next week, after Igor Dodon returns from Moscow.
