Maia Sandu said she does not want to take part in a public debate with Igor Dodon because the latter is not interested in an authentic discussion. Moreover, she will not allow to be involved in the dirt disseminated by her opponent, IPN reports.
“During the last few days, everyone could see what Igor Dodon wants to talk about. He is not interested in discussions about what he did during four years. Moreover, he is not interested in discussing solutions to the current problems faced by the people given that we are experiencing a crisis and a lot of people are facing difficulties. He does not want to discuss plans for our country for the next four years,” Maia Sandu stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.
According to the politician, she has received a number of signals that Igor Dodon uses great “scarecrows” to make the people vote for him in the November 15 presidential runoff.
As to the fake news about her disseminated after she won the first round of voting, Maia Sandu said this campaign is too short to waste time in answering to Igor Dodon.
“I have responses to this fake news, but I don’t have time to use this campaign trying to respond to a long list of fake news as Igor Dodon’s capacity to produce such news is unlimited. We answer and have answers to all the questions put by the people, but we consider this campaign should not be about Igor Dodon’s lies. It should be about the things an honest President who cares about the people does. We prefer to talk about such things,” stated the candidate for President.
Socialist MP Vlad Batrîncea, who is the head of the electoral staff of independent candidate for President Igor Dodon, on November 9 criticized pro-European candidate Maia Sandu’s decision not to take part in electoral debates. “The allegedly European democratic candidate is afraid of debates,” Vlad Batrîncea stated in a news conference.
