MAE will protest against teachers’ low salaries
The European Action Movement (MAE) will picket the building of the Ministry of Education and Youth in protest against the authorities’ attitude towards the education system of Moldova.
The current government is totally indifferent to the education system, a statement issued by the Movement says.
MAE expresses its worry over the fact that the salaries of the teachers, librarians and educators are so small they cannot cover even the minimum consumer basket. The students have to pay exaggerated tuition fees. The halls of residence cannot house all the students and the living conditions in most of them do not meet the sanitary norms.
The statement says that there is no law that would protect the students from bureaucratised administrators’ abuses, while the trade unions self-isolated themselves and do not deal with the most serious daily problems.
The protests will take place on October 1 and 6, between 10.00 and 13.00, in front of the Government House located on Banulescu-Bodoni Street.
