MAE urges AEI to resist Communist pressure

The European Action Movement (MAE) welcomes the creation of a parliamentary commission for the investigation of the April violent events. The MAE says the elucidation of the orders to abusively arrest young people and destroy the Declaration of Independence should be a priority for the present government, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the organization. The MAE considers that this commission has real chances to identify the circumstances in which hundreds of young persons were maltreated and arrested abusively during and after the post-electoral protests in central Chisinau. At the same time, the MAE reiterated its call to the members of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) that form part of the parliamentary inquiry commission to mobilize and resist the pressure exerted by the Communists Party. “The first gestures of despair of the Communists were noticed during the Parliament's sitting, when the Communist MPs insisted that the inquiry commission investigate only the April 6-8 events,” the MAE says in the communique. The inquiry commission was set up on Tuesday, October 20. Within 60 days, it will present a report on the results of the investigation in the Parliament.
