The European Action Movement (MAE) and the Ecologist Party “Alianta Verde” organized a meeting dedicated to Europe’s Day, near a store called “Unic” in Chisinau. “On May 9 we shall celebrate the Europe Day, not a victory that does not belong to us,” stated Anatol Petrencu, MAE leader, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “That day of May 9, 1945 must be a day of commemorating the people who died in war, who were mobilized against their will. We, who are the poorest country in Europe, celebrate the victory over whom, over Germany, which is the engine of the EU’s development?” Petrencu asked. Andrei Dumbraveanu, the secretary general of the Ecologist Party “Alianta Verde” specified that on May 9 people must celebrate peace among peoples. “On the days in May, the biggest clash, among the peoples, caused by two big tyrants, Hitler and Stalin, ended. Now that Moldova is menaced by a new dictatorial regime, such holidays are for protests, they are for saying no to dictatorship and saying yes to a real democracy,” Dumbraveanu opined. The meeting was followed by a concert attended by artists as Maria Sarabas, the bands “Chatarsis,” “London,” and others.
