The European Action Movement (MAE) presented its guarantees on April 3, two days before Sunday’s elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The MAE is the guarantee of the fight against corruption in Moldova. This is the message with which we close today the election campaign,” the MAE president Anatol Petrencu said. “We pledge that after April 5 we will continue the fight against corruption that impoverished and isolated the country.” The MAE also presented its resolutions adopted before the elections. The first resolution says that the MAE will in no case cooperate with the Communist Party (PCRM) and its acolytes, the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) and the Centrist Union Moldova (UCM). The MAE says that it will form a post-election coalition only with the Democratic parties that joined the National Anticorruption Pact, guaranteeing thus that they will also fight against this scourge. The party also assures that the MAE MPs will not vote laws for personal interests and laws that do not serve the people’s interests, and will not accept bribe. Also, the MAE guarantees that it will arrest the corrupt persons after investigating the fraudulent privatizations and appropriations of public money. The MAE candidate for Speaker Vitalia Pavlicenco said that the PCRM is preparing to rig the elections. “The Communists intend to pay by 1,000 euros to the presidents of polling places so as to falsify the election results,” Pavlicenco said. “The electoral lists contain by 400,000 voters more than at the previous elections. They include inexistent persons and persons that died,” said Alexandra Can, the MAE candidate for Prime Minister. The MAE leaders are convinced that the party will obtain the third result in elections with 10-12% of the vote.
