MAE demands suspending NIT

The European Action Movement (MAE) requested the Broadcasting Coordination Council to suspend the private TV channel NIT for the period of the election campaign. It also asked the Central Election Commission to penalize the channel. In a news conference on Thursday, the MAE leader Veaceslav Untila said the requests were made following a material broadcast by NIT, which says that the European Action Movement abandoned the electoral race and will support another election runner, which is not true. The MAE intends to claim damages from NIT for misinformation and damage caused to its image. “We witnessed an unprecedented informational attack by NIT. Such an act is in line with the activities carried out by the PCRM, which puts the lie above everything,” Veaceslav Untila said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. He recommended the PCRM’s staff to end the dirty and defective policy pursued, saying all the politicians bear responsibility for their deeds sooner or later. Veaceslav Untila also said that when the MAE enters Parliament, it will outlaw the Communist symbols.
