The European Action Movement (MAE) protests against arresting and expelling the two Romanian citizens working for the technical staff of the Liberal Democrats, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We see the PCRM's hand in this, a party willing to make a police-type state and attempting to intimidate the opposition parties this way. This type of actions drives us away from the living standards of the European Union and casts a shadow of disgrace over Moldova,” MAE president Anatol Petrencu told a news conference on Wednesday. PLDM president Vlad Filat told a news conference on Wednesday that the two Romanians, Razvan Cazacu and Radu Popescu, being legally in Moldova, were held up Monday evening and spent the night in the Buiucani district police commissariat. The next day, the Buiucani court decided to oust them from Moldova. Anatol Petrencu has said the MAE will meet OSCE observers this week to express his deep concern about the grave worsening of the democratic climate, 2 weeks ahead of the election day. On March 29, MAE will stage a protest meeting against the police's actions and called on all the democratic parties to join it.
