The heating system of the Theoretical Lyceum “Todur Zanet” of Congaz village of ATU Gagauzia was replaced as part of the Kusanone program that is supported by the Government of Japan. The works cost over 73,000 lei and were completed last July, IPN reports.
There were installed eight modern heaters. The piping system and the batteries were changed.
In the event to inaugurate the new heating system, the lyceum’s director Maria Cebanova said the old system dated from 1974 and didn’t work efficiently. It was cold in classrooms and the students and staff had to suffer.
Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Masanobu Yoshii in the same event said the Embassy received the lyceum’s request three years ago. The financing was approved one year later and the works could be started. This is the first project intended for Gagauzia, but is not the last one. A kindhearted in Comrat will be repaired with the assistance of Japan in the immediate period.
Masanobu Yoshii noted that through the Kusanone program, the Government of Japan aims to improve the life of the Moldovan citizens in such areas as healthcare, education and social welfare services.
As many as 64 projects have been financed in Moldova so far through the Kusanone program.
