Lyceum “Ciprian Porumbescu” gets 100,000 lei for renovation of concert hall

The concert hall of the National Music Boarding School “Ciprian Porumbescu” is to be renovated. Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu transmitted the first contribution of 100,000 lei for starting the renovation works. The money was collected within a charity event staged by Parliament and the Royal House of Romania, IPN reports.

Andrian Candu said he will discuss the issue with the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister so that the money needed for renovating the concert hall is directed to the lyceum and proposed establishing a partnership between Parliament and the lyceum so that the legislature patronizes institutionally the given education institution.

Starting with this year, the most talented and assiduous students of the lyceum will get the Speaker of Parliament’s Awards. It was suggested that the students should sing the state anthem in Parliament when the parliamentary sessions begin and end. For the first time, these could sing the anthem next week, when the spring session of Parliament starts.
