Luvannor makes debut with goal pass for national team of Moldova

The national football team of Moldova scored a draw in the last match played in 2013. The ‘tricolors’ tied 1-1 with Lithuania in a friendly played in Chisinau. Henrique Luvannor made his debut for the team trained by Ion Caras in this match, IPN reports.

Luvannor plays for Sheriff and is the top scorer this season. The 23-year-old Brazilian striker was close to scoring, but the ball hit the bar. Artur Ionita tied in the 72nd minute with a pass from Luvannor. Ionita, who plays in the championship of Switzerland at Aarau, scored in the second consecutive match, after the 5-2 against Montenegro. Mindaugas Kalonas scored for Lithuania at the end of the first half.

“My goal is due to Luvannor as he created the whole phase,” Artur Ionita said after the match. For his part, Luvannor said he was glad that he made his debut for the national squad of Moldova. “The team played well, but we unfortunately didn’t manage to win a victory. I promise to score in the next matches,” he stated.

Moldova coach Ion Caras was satisfied with his pupils’ performance. “I think it is a fair result. We could have scored more goals, but we lacked the necessary skillfulness in the end,” he told a news conference.
