Marian Lupu was reelected as chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) by a unanimous vote at the seventh congress of the party on June 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Lupu was the only candidate proposed for the post of chairman. “The radical changes and reforms that we intend to implement will serve as a good example for the Moldovan political class. The dictatorial management methods within the party should remain in the past. We go towards the formation of a true European party governed by team spirit and mutual respect,” Marian Lupu said after he was reelected as chairman. He put forward Vladimir Plahotniuc for the post of first deputy chairman of the PDM, saying that during the period of over a year since he entered the PDM team, he has shown that he is for the party’s development with the soul and heart. “Very many tried to attack him because they are afraid of him,” said Marian Lupu. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga spoke in support of Vlad Plahotniuc, saying that she didn’t know him earlier, but he showed political maturity in time. Vlad Plahotniuc was elected as first deputy chairman of the PDM by a unanimous vote. Until now this post was vacant.
