The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu, who was fielded for the post of head of state by the Alliance for European Integration, will pay a visit to Saint-Petersburg on Friday, November 20. He was invited by Edinaya Rossia (United Russia) to take part in the party’s Eleventh Congress, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the PDM’s press service. While in Saint-Petersburg, Marian Lupu will have a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of this party and will sign a cooperation agreement between the PDM and United Russia. At the start of next week, Marian Lupu will leave for Brussels, where he will meet with officials of the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Office of the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Lupu’s visit to Moscow is the second after his nomination as a candidate for the presidency. The Communist parliamentary group boycotted the presidential election on November 10. A new round of voting will take place by December 10. A date has not been fixed yet.
