Lumteh promises surprise on holidays
The municipal lighting company Lumteh keeps it secret how the capital city will look during the winter holidays, but promises a surprise. “I do not want to say something now. But I promise that the atmosphere in Chisinau will be like in the European capitals. Neither the mayor of Chisinau knows how the Christmas tree will be decorated. I want to be a surprise,” the director of Lumteh Nicolae Vereshko has told Info-Prim Neo.
The employees of Lumteh profited from the nice weather and already started to fix the lighting installations for Christmas. The trees growing in front of the Government Building and along Stefan cel Mare Blvd. were the first to be decorated with lights. Nicolae Vereshko said that festoons will be put on the trees along the main artery, in the central park of Chisinau and in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Employees of the company will finish the ornamentation works in several days. The lamps will be switched on when the winter holidays are opened officially.
Nicolae Vereshko said the Christmas tree is the greatest concern as five days will be needed to adorn it. The fir tree will be set up in the Great National Assembly Square on November 25 and will be inaugurated on December 1.
About 800,000-900,000 lei will be spent on the festive lighting and the decoration of the fir tree. Last year, the Chisinau City Hall spent approximately the same amount.
