The head of the Parliament’s committee on social protection, health and family Dan Perciun, PAS MP, registered a legislative proposal to allocate a lump-sum payment of 2,500 lei to the Nistru war veterans, to their parents or windows in connection with the 30th anniversary of the start of the Nistru armed conflict that is marked today, March 2, IPN reports.

On his Facebook page, the MP said the period of participation in the armed conflict should be included in the contribution period in proportion of 1 to 3. It is proposed offering the right to nominal allocation for special merits to all the veterans, regardless of age, and also the right to annual aid simultaneously to parents and windows of war veterans.

“The events in the region showed once again how important it is for the state to support those who fought or are ready to fight for the integrity and sovereignty of the country (...). We are grateful to those 20,070 Nistru war veterans for risking their lives for our independence,” said Dan Perciun.
