The Christians who fasted during the last few weeks must correctly eat now, especially after the Holy Week, when fasting is stricter, nutritionist Luminita Suveica has told IPN. She recommends eating more fruit and vegetables on Easter Sunday. Salads based on vegetal oil should form part of the holyday menu.
Luminita Suveica also recommended eating lamb first because it is dietary. “This is rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamins of Group B. We must not abuse, but should eat in small quantities at the beginning,” she stated.
The nutritionist said she is against eating pork on Easter. Those who fasted strictly should avoid eating this type of meat. Also, the stuffed cabbage rolls must be prepared with dietary meat.
On an Easter meal, the people should eat one boiled egg, a piece of lamb and a lot of vegetables. “I advise decorating the holiday table with many candles and flowers, which give us satisfaction, while the food should not be in abundance. We must celebrate with the soul, not with the stomach as many digestive problems appear afterward,” stated Luminita Suveica.
She also recommended avoiding meat croquettes, fat food and salads with mayonnaise, drinking at least two liters of water a day as this helps digestion and eating five times a day and in small quantities.
Those who are on strict diet should also eat lamb, boiled eggs and salads with celery roots.
