LP promises 100 USD scholarships to students if it wins elections

President of the Liberal Party (LP) Mihai Ghimpu promises to increase scholarships up to 100 dollars if the liberals will win the elections. Ghimpu made this statement on Sunday, November 26 during the second congress of the LP’s Youth Wing (LPYW). The event commenced with “Desteapta-te Romane” (Romania’s national anthem) and continued with speeches delivered by young people from different parts of Moldova. The congress, presided by LP vice-president Dorin Chirtoaca, brought up for discussions an array of problems which concern the liberal youth. As part of LPYW congress four resolutions were voted, which emphasized upon young people’s participation in politics, addressed the state of Moldova’s education, the abusively introduced course of integrated history, and Moldova’s state of affairs in socio-economical and political matters. Mihai Ghimpu told Info-Prim Neo that this conference is a successful one, given its large turnout, a proof that LPYW is gaining strength. “The best thing about it is that the young people realized they have to get involved into politics and back the LP. If we’ll keep the same pace, we will manage to substitute the current government party”, Ghimpu added. The “Gandul Matei” rock-band performed in front of the audience at the end of the conference.
