The attendance rate in the kindergartens of Chisinau is as low as the previous years during the winter holidays. Slightly over half of the enrolled children attend the kindergarten in the period.

Contacted by IPN, acting head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau Viorica Negrei said about 20,000 children of the over 37,000 attending kindergartens were brought to nursery schools on January 4. It is not yet half of the number of enrolled children as the attendance rate does not usually exceed 75%.

In the municipality of Chisinau, there are 159 preschool education institutions.
