Loretta Handrabura joins PLDM
Nonaffiliated municipal councilor Loretta Handrabura, who had been vice president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) until March 2009, announced Friday that she joined the faction of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Given the inherent format changes that took place after the legislative elections, I decided to join the faction of the PLDM from today. I identify myself with this young and professional team with political verticality that had and I’m sure will have a distinct voice in the CMC in the new format and that proved during only two years that it can solve many problems in a short period of time,” Loretta Handrabura said, while waiting for the municipal councilors to come together for a meeting.
“The fact that a part of the councilors are absent today shows once again that we, those that indeed associate ourselves with true democracy, must join forces,” she added, being applauded in the end by the councilors present in the assembly hall.
Handrabura also said that the next step will definitely be the joining of the PLDM so that she becomes a fully-fledged member.
The former vice president and councilor of the PSD in March announced that she left the party because she did not support its views anymore.
