The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will allot three short national numbers for harmonized services of social value to public fixed-line phone network operator - 116000, 116111 and 116123. The same numbers are used in the EU. This is provided in the updated National Numbering Plan that came into force on May 21, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from ANRCETI. The number 116000 will be used for the emergency telephone line for missing children, 116111 – for telephone assistance for children, while 116123 – for the telephone assistance line that provides emotional support. The Agency will formulate the necessary regulations and will then announce a contest to allocate the given numbers. The calls from any settlement of Moldova and from any terminal of public electronic communications networks will be toll-free. The new National Numbering Plan extended the rage of services provided through numbers from the blocks with “8” and “9”. The numbers from the block “0814 XXXXX” will be used to provide general information (about railway, air and road transport, including taxis, and medical services). These services are now provided through the local short numbers “14XX”. The numbers from the block “0905 XXXXX” will be allocated for providing general, business, marketing and other information, while the numbers from the block “0906 XXXXX”– for entertainment services for adults. Numbers from the block “071X XXXXX” will be allotted for the services provided by mobile virtual phone network operators. In 2009, the ANRCETI allocated about 722,000 telephone numbers to providers of electronic communications networks and services.
